Rules
In order for everyone to safely participate in leisure activities, please find below some information about the Sanguinet Lake rules (arrangements which apply to all types of craft boats). Those signs are located at each boat launching area.

300 metres wide inshore strip
Along the shoreline, it has been established a 300 metres wide area including the “Conche of Sanguinet” on the lake called “bande de rive” (symbol map ----). The speed of all craft boats is limited to 5 kmph in the “bande de rive”. To the west, it is delimited by 8 spherical yellow buoys, 80 centimetres in diameter, between the “Put Blanc” area and the Estey marina.
Supervised bathing areas- Beaches
Boat’s traffic is prohibited inside bathing areas. Pavillon and Caton are two monitored sandy beaches. Dogs have been banned from the beaches.
Jet- ski
The use of motorised craft boats registered or not (Jet Ski, junior Jet Ski and craft boat of similar type, hovercraft, lightweight, hydroplane) are permitted in a specified zone from Monday to Thursday from 3 pm until 7 pm, except bank holidays, on the lake of Cazaux – Sanguinet, only in the department of Les Landes.
Water-skiing
A zone is reserved for waterskiing beyond the “conche”. Covering 300 metres wide by 1500 metres long, it is located parallel to the military zone, 300 metres away from it. Inside that zone, bathing and scuba diving are forbidden.
Windsurfing
Before 10 am, windsurfing is not allowed on the whole lake except for the Sanguinet sailing school.
Scuba diving
Scuba diving is forbidden inside the firing range, water-skiing and jet skiing areas as well as on the archaeological sites. It is only permitted outside these zones from the sunrise to the sunset, strictly respecting the conditions of this activity.
Kite surfing
Kite surfing or similar activity is prohibited in the “Conche of Sanguinet”. Two departure points for this activity have been setup and are represented by buoys which are located to Estey harbour and Aynes beach.

Military zone
The western side of the map indicates the firing range of the Cazaux airbase. No admittance on work days. Traffic is only permitted on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays unless there is an opposite decision expressed by the airbase. On the lake, the military zone is demarcated by a line of buoys (1 metre in diameter). Not respecting those rules will expose you to danger (real shooting area) and legal penalties.
